Experience

Gas and Oil are in my blood. Having experience is just a nice way to say your old. I'm not that old, yet, but I have been working on stuff since my age was in the single digits. When I was 7 my dad bought me a Honda Z50 Motorcycle and I started having fun fixing it almost immediately. My dad has been the proprietor of Rod's Garage since the 50s. I grew up learning what to do, and sometimes what not to do, by working with him. The picture is of my son giving me a hand.

Training

In High School I took as much Auto Shop and Welding as I could. For 3 years I learned the basics of maintenance and heavy duty truck repair while working at the County Public Utilities Shop. I worked summers as a Technician at local independent shop. When I was 17 I spent my summer taking 21 credits of Auto Body Repair and Welding at a community college. Later I received a Bachelors degree in Diesel Power Technology from Oregon Institute of Technology. I graduated with Honors. Decided to test my knowledge with ASE Certifications. Became ASE Master Automotive Technician, ASE Certified Engine Machinist, ASE Certified Auto Body Technician, and ASE Certified Heavy Duty Truck Technician.

Why is this my hobby?
